Bye Bye 2011...Welcome 2012

Dear Friends & Readers,


Lets hope equities boom (esp. stocks in my portfolio...er sorry stocks in ALL OF OUR portfolios) in 2012.  
 


My wish-list for 2012:



  • Thailand, Japan recover from their natural calamities
  • India gets a REAL LEADER
  • Parliamentarians listen to and heed public opinion   
  • Elections are fought and won over Non-caste / Non-religion / Non- regional issues 
  • Terrorism is defeated by peace, love & wisdom
  • American, Indian, European etc economies recover 
  • People get REAL jobs once again
  • Real economy triumphs over financial economy
  • Already reached 7 bn humans, highest in history. Our earth and Mother nature can sustain only so many and no more. Lets put a pause on population here.
  • Climate Change is reversed and we all plant trees and save water bodies
  • Chinese Yuan gets weaker vis-a-vis INR, at least for a few days in Feb (gotta return some money to BIL)
  • and I win a REAL Lottery (not the fake Nigerian one...)

An Open letter to the Prime Minister of India

Dear Shri PM ji, Thanks for speaking out and calming us finally, days after the tragedy that happened on the streets of Delhi. Sir, we would like to believe that your feelings of concern for the victim are indeed true and genuine. We thank you for the deep empathy you displayed for the young protestors braving the Delhi cold, getting drenched by water cannon, beaten up by Police batons, shot by tear gas shells while demanding a safer city for women.  Your words of calm and reason are soothing balm to a troubled nation. We already feel better. But sir, YOU are the establishment. You don’t demand results , but, it is you who should deliver RESULTS . The people are angry because each day their wives, sisters and daughters are condemned to live in a state of fear of the goons and criminals. Sachin Tendulkar is to cricket, what a vowel is to word...

My journey and moments with the little master -by Ashutosh Garud (guest) On 23rd December 2012, Sachin Tendulkar showed he is human after all. Yes he retired from ODI’s. Somewhere deep down in our hearts, the fans (including me) were anticipating the moment to be around the corner. I was 8, when he debuted and honestly I don’t remember his first runs and innings.
