Day 2: Beijing trip

Beijing trip, Friday

Great wall of China  at muthianyu. Even though balingong site is nearer and more popular. Exactly because of the above, we chose muthianyu site. Less crowded.

Apart from the history of blood and forced labor, its rather unremarkable. That is if you don't include the trolley car ride on the way up and generally decent view from the top.

There is a saying, if you visit China and don't see the great wall, you are a fool. If however, you have seen it once and come back again, you are a bigger fool. Bill galantly accepted he now qualified for the latter.

It is also interesting that even though the Chinese rulers spent decades in building the war to guard against the Mongolian raider, ghenghis khan just bribed the sentry to open the gates. Talk about waste of time and effort of great wall proportions. Ha ha ha.
