India awaits another historic declaration tomorrow

The fight for Jan lokpal bill seems to be going in its final ground. Both Govt. and team Anna is huddled in meetings and discussions. The pressure in intense on the beleaguered Congress as the 74 year old crusader’s health is now deteriorating. God forbid, if anything happens to him, there may be a mass movement which will surely eclipse all the world has seen in recent past.

On behalf of one billion Indians, I hope & wish Anna Hazare stays healthy, and the leaders at the top of the political system in India show they are as committed to rooting and fighting corruption as their stature has so far lead us to believe by taking firm and decisive steps.

I have a hunch, that by tomorrow morning, there may be a compromise worked out. Hope in all this trouble India will emerge the winner.

PS:
I joined the demonstrators at CST station today evening for a few slogan shouting today. It was VERY GOOD FEELING .
I urge all office goers to come forward and support the movement as much as they can.

Value of revisiting the past...

  Growing up, reading History was boring to say the least. I failed to see the relevance of learning about the past. Also, there were hardly any bright job prospects with this subject. But with time (inevitably) and better judgement (hopefully ;) I find that this view was myopic and flawed. Dark clouds

  I was witnessing with great sadness and despair as a neighboring nation, which once sported an open and progressive society and economically too was making a mark in the world, is now on the verge of getting enveloped in the thick black smoke of hate and violence. Politically, and strategically, such a decline will undoubtedly leave a more difficult (and dangerous) regional equation for countries like India. However, the deafening silence of our own liberal-left on the clear and present danger and on the human crimes (be it beheadings or hangings etc) clearly exposes how shallow their own “liberal” and “secular” ideologies are.
